September 11, 2025

The Faculty of Technology at the University of Tuzla ran a two-day training called Project Management in EU-Funded Projects: Strengthening Compliance, Coordination and Efficient Delivery.

The training took place on 4–5 September 2025, gathering 21 participants, including support staff, office coordinators, finance and administration officers, logistics staff, and other personnel involved in EU-funded project implementation. The training was led by Vika Pušnik and Helena Kovačič from University of Ljubljana.

The objective of the training was to enhance efficiency, compliance, and practical understanding of administrative and project management roles under EU and European Commission regulations. The session focused on sharing relevant knowledge and clarifying responsibilities essential for successful project delivery.

Through training, practical activities and discussions, participants were introduced to individual project phases and project management processes. They gained useful knowledge and experience. The training also stressed the importance of improving sustainable project management skills and of establishing and strengthening project management centres in higher education institutions in the Western Balkans.

Participant feedback confirmed the training was highly effective. They praised the relevant content, the trainers’ expertise, and the interactive format, describing the programme as “excellent.”

The training stressed the need to develop sustainable project management skills and to set up dedicated centres within universities in the region. Strengthening these skills is vital for improving efficiency, compliance, and delivery in EU-funded projects. This will help higher education institutions in the Western Balkans benefit fully from international collaboration and funding opportunities.
